Diary update

Early mornings seems to be order of the day at present! Awake at 4am Monday (my birthday!!), got up soon after 5am and on the road to CWR at Farnham by 20 past 6 – thought I might get there quicker – still took 2:45, but at least I had time for a coffee before we began the day! (See my blog ‘One for sorrow, two for joy’ for more info!) Home journey better (always is….) Back around 6pm and then preparing to go out as well as open birthday cards. Pleasant meal at DragonsDSCN3149 DSCN3150before home after 9pm and open presents! Nice new tracksuit from Julie, some books to encourage me on the running training front from Mum & Dad – zilch training from Saturday up till today (Thursday) – rest day Sunday, no time Mon/Tues, yesterday felt absolutely shattered and drained out and back playing me up following all the driving I think – pain in right side of back and referring down right leg…. ho hum! From my sis I had a wonderful photo book of my Granite Man triathlon over in Guernsey – absolutely cracking – along with a ‘Guernsey donkey’ tshirt – love it.

In bed by 10pm, but sadly awake by 5am and I didn’t need to head off to Waverley till 7am as it was a later start. Good journey down – there by 9.30am only to discover that registration wasn’t until 10am – doh! Gave me time for a wander around the old abbey and a few more pictures…

The Leader’s Day turned out to be an excellent day. Some very helpful stuff on managing change with a superb underlying theme that the only reason for change is if it is something the Holy Spirit is bringing about. Encouraging to see that so much of what we do at church is on the right track in terms of managing change. Some useful new tips too. Great to chat with other leaders and see the different struggles folk face in different churches. Good journey home – quickest yet – almost down to 2 hours and an average speed of nearly, but not quite 50mph – much better – also got just over the 50mpg too which was great! Home, grab some food and then out to a Governor’s training evening on ‘Stronger Governance’ – turned out it was about introducing an online resource – but a useful evening and largely about leadership matters – interesting follow on from the earlier part of the day! Arrived home soon after 9.30pm feeling a bit brain dead – bed soon after 10pm.

Slept well till about 5am, tossed and turned till about 6.30am and then up. Car off to garage for 8.30am for service and MOT – most of day spent around home waiting on calls re car – work to do 😦 – car ended up staying in overnight – still got a nice 51 reg Ford Focus – lovely car even if brakes noisy (as is indicator!) and gear box is very worn – still it has done over 104000! Find myself waiting around again today – once the work is done got to go and get some new tyres then take it back to get MOT completed…. Ho hum…. all for now…
